About Me
When I was five years old, I lived in Mississippi, so naturally my father had a garden. One day I was outside "helping" him in his garden when I told him I, too, was going to have a garden when I grew up. "Oh really?" he said. "What are you going to grow?" I don't think I missed a beat before responding "snacks and desserts!" Growing up, I spent many a Saturday baking with my mother, and my sweet tooth was ever present. I have vivid memories of my favorite brownie recipe with an oats/butter/brown sugar crust. Yummy. So the recipes started out simple, but over time I learned to cook more than just brownies. Now as an adult, I still love to cook and bake, and I still spend many a Saturday in the kitchen. The difference, however, is that the ingredients I use are more important to me than they were as a child. And my time in the kitchen is no longer limited to baking sweets.
Since June of 2010, I have become very passionate about eating only real foods. To that end, I've created this blog. The recipes I post on this blog will consist only of all-natural, non-processed ingredients. Very few of the recipes, if any, will be original, but I will give credit to the original authors. I love searching for new recipes, and I want this blog to be a resource where you can come for food that tastes good and is good for you.
I live in Nashville, TN with my singer-songwriter husband, Travis Lamb, and the cutest dogs in the world, Janey and Darlin.
